Dyer Kickers offers an "Introduction to Soccer" division(U4) for ages 3&4 years of age who do not meet the u6 birthdate cutoff (8/1) & an in-house recreational league for kids ages 4-16. These programs focus on exposure soccer, skill development and having fun! We hope to develop a passion for the game of soccer at an early age.

Games/Practice
U4 does not play any scheduled games.
The In-House league plays all their games & practices at Dyer Northgate Park (u4/u6/u8) & Dyer Central Park (u10 & above)
The in-House league is less competitive than our Rec+ Travel league.
Teams typically practice one to two times per week.
Games usually take place on Saturdays, but some Friday night games can be expected for our u6 & possibly u8 divisions.

Skills
All Dyer players will be invited to participate in FREE Footskill building clinics throughout the season (optional). A benefit that the club pays for with generous fundraising money & donations.

Coaches
-Both our u4 & all our In-House divisions rely on parent volunteers to coach.
-Head coaches receive $50 reimbursement for each team they coach
-Coaches training provided by Dyer Kickers & their partners.
-Training includes Practice Plans and Education, Safesport training, Concussion training, and access to our licensed staff and partners.
**As a rule of thumb, we try to have (1) coach/trainer for every 8-10 players with the younger ages requiring more attention.

The Rec+ Travel Program for the more experienced player aged U8-U16 who excels at in-house play. This program is a stepping stone between in-house play and elite club-level play. Players compete against teams from the surrounding Northwest Indiana area who are also passionate and excel in the sport.

The Rec+ Travel program runs during the Fall and Spring seasons and is sanctioned by NWISL (nwisl.com). The league is comprised of 24 surrounding towns within Northwest Indiana. Towns include: Munster, Highland, Hammond, Lansing, Valparaiso, Portage, Lowell, Schererville, Griffith, Ogden Dunes, Crown Point, Duneland, Hobart, Laporte, Union Township, Michigan City, Demotte, Morgan Township, Renselear, Lake of the Four Seasons, and Hebron.

NWISL places each team in one of several tiers.  Team placement is based on the time the team has been together, age, skill, how many players the club returns to the league every year, and other factors.  New teams with newer players are generally placed in lower divisions; whereas, teams that have played together and have done well move up to higher divisions.

Practices
-Rec+ teams typically practice twice per week.
-Locations: Dyer Northgate Park (u8) & Dyer Central Park (u10 & above).

Games
-There are typically four home and four away games. Home and away game locations vary by which towns are in our bracket.
-Games are set by NWISL and usually occur on Sundays between noon and 6:00 p.m. Some Saturday games are possible and should be expected.

Skills
All Dyer players will be invited to participate in FREE Footskill building clinics throughout the season (optional). A benefit that the club pays for with generous fundraising money & donations.

Coaches
-Coaches for this program are volunteers but are usually more experienced than in-house coaches. Most have at least one advanced certification.
-Head coaches receive $50 reimbursement for each team they coach
-Coaches training provided by Dyer Kickers & their partners.
-Training includes Practice Plans and Education, Safesport training, Concussion training, and access to our licensed staff and partners

**Teams often stay together and enroll in tournaments and play together during the summer & winter at indoor facilities in the off season.
**Because this is a competitive league, Dyer Kickers reserves the right to hold mandatory player evaluations before players are placed at appropriate level (including inhouse). **Player spots are limited by NWISL therefore placement is not guaranteed.

- Practices for indoor soccer are only (1) night per week per team. There is limited field availability and practices cannot be rescheduled.

OTHER:

- The teams and divisions are dependent on the number of  volunteers and players.  The commissioner will divide players and teams into a lower tier (B) division and upper tier (A) division each session if there are enough teams and players to do so.  When this happens, teams would only play teams in their division (IE.  teams in the 'B' divisions would not play teams in the 'A' division).
- (A) division teams will typically have a greater quantity of skilled players who may or may not play travel soccer.  In all divisions, there will be a spectrum of soccer development for the players involved on each team .
- The leagues and divisions could consist of teams from Dyer Kickers and our surrounding areas.
- The Commissioner would consider many factors when determining placement which could include, but is not limited to, player requests, their own personal evaluations of the players and teams, previous coach feedback, and registration information when determining divisional placement.
- The club will try to accommodate the various requests provided for each player during registration, however, not all requests can be served or are guaranteed.
- All communications with parents and players will be through TeamSnap and club emails. This will include all schedules for games and practices.

- If you are signing up a full team, please make a special request and include your coaches name in the registration. Separate practice times for full teams are subject to field availability and are not guaranteed or included.  Dyer Kickers does  not oversee teams registered directly through the arena.
